Job Description

The Duty-Free Cashier is a service-oriented and well-organized team member responsible for handling transactions accurately and efficiently. This role includes processing payments (cash, credit card, and debit card), scanning and packaging items, handling returns, and reconciling the cash register.

The cashier identifies customer needs and recommends suitable products to enhance the shopping experience, while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude at all times.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Availability: Willingness to work flexible shifts
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar customer-facing or cashier role

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and maintain a positive and friendly attitude

• Assist customers in locating desired items

• Inform customers about ongoing promotions and special offers

• Professionally address and resolve customer complaints

• Maintain thorough knowledge of store inventory to recommend products

• Process sales transactions quickly and accurately

• Accept and manage cash, credit, and debit payments

• Handle product returns and exchanges

• Track transactions and report discrepancies when necessary

• Scan items and ensure correct pricing

• Maintain adequate levels of change in the cash drawer

• Support cross-selling and upselling initiatives

• Reconcile daily sales receipts and cash drawer totals

• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets

• Bag, box, or gift-wrap items as required

• Keep the checkout area clean and organized
